Agent Registration
Automatic Agent Registration (Recommended)
This is a method where the Agent is automatically registered by entering the Authentication Info (Company or Domain Group Key) issued by the Manager during the Agent installation process.
Verifying Agent Authentication Information
- During Agent installation, enter the Authentication Info for the Company / Domain Group that you want to apply.
Once registration is complete, the Agent will automatically appear in the [System Status] menu and will be managed by the Manager from that point on.
Manual Agent Registration (Not Recommended)
This is a method where you first manually create the Agent information in the Manager's [System Status] menu, and then use the issued Agent ID (AID) to install the Agent.
Danger
To use the Auto-scaling feature in a virtual environment (VM, Container), you must use the automatic registration method. Manual registration does not support automatic Agent scaling and registration due to authentication issues.
Item | Description |
---|---|
Agent Name | Enter the name of the Agent to be displayed on the management screen. |
IP | Enter the IP address of the server where the Agent will be installed. |
Port | Enter the port number for communication with the Agent. |
Web Server Type | Select the type of web server. |
Web Server Version | Enter the version of the web server. |
Mode | Configure whether to activate the Agent's security functions. • RUN: Activates security functions. • BYPASS: Deactivates security functions and allows all traffic. |
Send Domain | Configure whether the Agent should automatically register unknown domains to the Manager when detected. • ON: When a new domain is detected, it is automatically added to the corresponding domain group in the Manager. If no default domain group is specified, it is added to the 'Unclassified Domains' list in `[Policy Management]`. • OFF: Ignores new domains without registering them. |
Auto Delete | This is an automatic deletion option for dynamically created Agents in an Auto-scaling environment. (This does not apply to Agents that were initially registered manually) • ON: The Agent is automatically removed from the list if communication is lost for more than 1 hour. • OFF: The Agent is not automatically removed even if communication is lost. |
Managed Domain Group | Specify the domain group(s) to which the Agent will belong. A single Agent can belong to multiple domain groups. However, this setting is ignored if a 'Default Domain Group' is specified. The configuration can be checked in the 'Managed Agents' list under the [Policy Management] > [Modify Domain Group] menu. |
Default Domain Group | If multiple 'Managed Domain Groups' are set, this specifies which one to use as the default. |
To select the 'Managed Domain Group' to apply to the Agent, click the [Add] button and select the desired group(s) from the list. (Multiple selections are possible) |
- The 'Default Domain Group' is not a required field. However, be aware that if this setting is left blank, no security policy will be applied to requests for domains that do not belong to any managed domain group. To apply at least a basic policy to all traffic, it is recommended to specify a default domain group with a Catch-all policy.
- After completing all settings, click [OK] to register the Agent in the Manager. Use the AID (Agent ID) issued at this time to install the Agent program on the actual server.
