Precautions

Administrator Trustworthiness

The DeepFinder administrator must be a trustworthy individual who will not abuse their privileges.

Physical Access Control

DeepFinder must be installed in a location where it is protected from unauthorized personnel. Additionally, the administrator's PC used to access the DeepFinder security management screen must always use a screen lock to prevent unauthorized users from accessing DeepFinder.

Precautions for Remote Management

When using a password for administrator authentication, be aware that other users may be able to access the security management interface if the administrator leaves their station unattended. To minimize this risk, DeepFinder forcibly terminates administrator sessions that have been idle for 30 minutes, or for a duration configured by the administrator.

Maintaining Security

When the internal network environment changes due to modifications in network configuration or an increase/decrease in hosts and services, the administrator must immediately reflect the changed environment and security policies into DeepFinder's operational policies to maintain the same level of security as before.

System Status Monitoring

The administrator must regularly check the system status, including CPU and Memory, and be able to take appropriate action in case of any abnormalities.

Maintaining Up-to-Date Security Objects

To ensure that security policies fulfill their intended purpose amidst changes in the network environment or users, the information for all security objects (e.g., agents, domains, IP groups, security patterns) must always be kept up-to-date.

Administrator Management

The DeepFinder administrator database must always be kept current. Care must be taken to ensure that personnel changes among internal administrators are accurately applied.

Continuous Management

Continuous management of DeepFinder is crucial. The administrator must check the audit logs daily or periodically to identify any illegal intrusion attempts or system abnormalities. DeepFinder checks the system's status upon initial startup and whenever requested by an administrator to ensure it remains in a secure state.

Operating System Hardening

The DeepFinder administrator must ensure the reliability and stability of the operating system by performing tasks such as removing unnecessary OS services and utilities, and by hardening the OS against known vulnerabilities.
